if you are a dreamer come in`
if you are a dreamer a wisher a liar
a hoper a pray-er a magic-bean-buyer
if you’re a pretender come sit by my fire
for we have some flax golden tales to spin
come in! come in!
About this website: I can’t seem to make up my mind – is this a travel blog that also happens to contain wildlife- and nature-related material? Poetry, with the occasional foray into anthropology? Or is it the other way around? Why can’t it be all of the above? Regardless, I’m hoping to gradually add more and better links as time goes on, so that this site might eventually be used as a resource for like-minded people. Writers, books, ideas, and so on. Places. Creativity.
About me: I’m a Canadian recently re-patriated after living and working in Seoul, South Korea. That was my second extended (over one year) stay in Asia. Me? I’m sometimes a teacher, sometimes a student, sometimes a construction worker …I’m an amateur but avid reader and explorer of poetry and mountains, cultural anthropology, wildlife and ecology, religious studies, folklore and fairy tales, world landscapes and mythologies…

I like to think of myself as a writer, although I certainly don’t write for a living. I’m intrigued by almost everything, and books about almost everything. I’m inspired by small everyday happenings (such as the exploits of insects), as well as by the usual stuff (panoramic views, epic adventures, world travel). I love image poems, and haiku. I’m interested in both stories and storytellers, and I like the idea that there are always stories behind the stories. I’m inspired by the mythic and the transcendent - and the ways in which these are envisioned and expressed in people’s lives.
Some online samples of my poetry are available here and here, or via the “Blogroll” links on the right of this page.

Hey Kelly!
It’s Megan, we worked together at the Wee Book Inn. Robyn got your package today. THANKS! I love my Let’s Go Korca shirt. I have to say I’m surprised you remembered. I’m stoked that you have a blog and you should know that I’ll be reading it. I hope Korea is good, I’m assuming it is otherwise you would have come back by now. Do something fun and crazy for me okay?
cheers,
megan
